Late summer to early autumn — the sweet spot
February through April is the easiest time to book in Tasmania. Sweeps have flexibility, you can pick a date that suits, and your heater is ready well before the first cold morning. This window also gives time to address anything found during the inspection without rushing.
Pre-winter (May-June) — the rush
As soon as the temperature drops and the first heater goes on, bookings spike. Wait times grow, and the most popular slots (weekends, evenings) fill quickly. If you've left it to May, book as soon as you can — even a quick check is better than waiting.
Winter (June-August) — fault response only
Most winter calls are urgent: smoke in the room, a heater that won't draw, or a blocked flue mid-season. We respond quickly across Tasmania, but it's a much harder time to schedule a relaxed annual service.
Spring (September-November) — quiet and underrated
For heavy winter users, a spring clean is a great idea. The flue is dirtiest right after the heating season, and clearing creosote then prevents it from hardening over summer.
Booking tips
- If you can remember the last clean, book 12 months from that date.
- If you can't remember, treat it as overdue.
- Group with neighbours where possible — easier scheduling for both of you.
A note on safety: chimney and flue issues can become serious quickly. When in doubt, leave the heater unlit and call a qualified sweep — a short visit beats guessing.
